Synopsis

The All-on-4^® Concept is an innovative surgical procedure for the rehabilitation of edentulous jaws focusing entirely on the patient. By taking advantage of the dense bone available in the anterior maxilla and between the mandibular foramina, this widely applicable surgical technique allows the treatment of a significantly greater number of patients, while avoiding the need for complex, time consuming and often debilitating bone grafting procedures.

There is increased interest in the long-term clinical outcomes and quality of life of patients treated with PEEK (Poly-ether-ether-ketone), a high-performance polymer for the framework material for full-arch implant-supported dental prosthetics, based on the excellent results provided by recent scientific reports.

The presentations by MALO CLINIC will focus on the laboratory process, clinical outcomes and ongoing scientific investigations using PEEK polymer in full-arch implant supported prostheses (including zygomatic implants). During this day, the MALO CLINIC clinical team pioneer of the All-on-4^® Concept will demonstrate how to achieve immediate function, excellent esthetics and predictable long-term success through a state-of-the-art protocol including, surgery, prosthodontics, and maintenance.

Dr. Carlos Moura Guedes

Graduated from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Lisbon, with an Advanced Studies Diploma by the Granada University, Dr. Carlos Moura Guedes is currently MALO CLINIC’s National Clinical Director. Invited lecturer in the Specialization in Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Lisbon. Practicing exclusively on Oral Rehabilitation and Esthetic Dentistry exclusively, he has also been a guest speaker at several International conferences on the following topics: - Oral rehabilitation - Fixed Prosthodontics - Interdisciplinary treatments, Aesthetics and minimally invasive adhesive treatments Author and co-author of several scientific articles.

Dr. Miguel de Araújo Nobre

Graduated as a Dental Hygienist from the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Lisbon in 1998 and joined the MALO CLINIC team in 1999. Currently is the Director of the Research, Development and Education Department and Oral Hygiene Department. Practicing extensively as a clinician-researcher over 20 years and as one of the original authors of the All-on-4® concept studies, Miguel de Araújo Nobre has an extensive knowledge in the field of Implant Dentistry. He has special interest in the maintenance of implant-supported rehabilitations and incorporation of epidemiological models to oral diseases, with a highlight on peri-implant disease where he developed the first ever risk score scientifically validated. As one of MALO CLINIC’s key speakers, he lectures regularly in national and international courses and congresses. He is a Master of Science in Epidemiology since 2011 and a PhD in Epidemiology since 2019, both from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon (Portugal), where he is currently a visiting Professor in the Oral Pathology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Discipline. He is author and co-author of more than 100 scientific manuscripts in peer-reviewed Journals, 6 book chapters and one patent.
